The Grange began in 1867 as a way to improve the lives of farmers after the civil war. The Grange is instrumental in ending the railroad monopoly that prevented local farmers from shipping their crops to market. This grass roots advocacy is still alive today, as the Grange at all levels is the voice of rural America. As a non-partisan organization we lobby for our home town values while promoting Resiliency, Self-Sustainabilty and Food Security.
Members of the Grange have a common bond, we all want our home, community and world to be a little better when we go to bed at night than it was when we woke up!
